Where Little Minds Bloom

At Blooming Buds Preschool, we nurture little minds as they grow, explore, and bloom. In our warm, in-home setting, children learn the fundamentals needed for kindergarten through movement, music, art, and play. We embrace every child’s unique learning style while creating joyful experiences with themed activities, class parties, and hands-on adventures. Here, learning is meaningful, and every child blossoms with confidence.

Teacher Jenni

My name is Jenni Hansen, and I am the owner of blooming buds preschool, and I truly love teaching. I grew up in Lewiston Utah, graduated from Sky View High School. I've always wanted to do hair, so l went to beauty school and I have been doing hair and nails for 20 years (I still do that Monday and Wednesday afternoons). I have always loved kids, and have worked off and on in the school district. After my first baby I decided to just do hair and nails a couple days a week. I have 4 amazing kids and when I was pregnant with my last, I decided I wanted to get back into teaching kids again, so l decided to start up my own preschool, and have been teaching ever since. This will be my 11th year teaching preschool, and l've absolutely loved it.

My goal is to have every child learn to love learning, looking forward to coming to class, meeting new friends, making every interaction a positive one, and leaving everyday with more confidence, a bigger desire to learn, and feeling loved.

I would be thrilled to have your child join us at blooming buds preschool.

A Peek at Our Day

What does a day look like?

Every day is a new adventure! Here's a sample of how we structure our time together.

🌼 Welcome
Welcome time gives children a gentle start to their day with greetings, free play, and journaling. It helps build independence, self expression, and a smooth transition into learning.
🌼 Circle time
During circle time, children come together to build community and daily learning skills. We explore the calendar, weather, social-emotional sharing, and review our daily schedule, along with music and movement to engage and energize learning.
🌼 Physical development
Throughout the day, children build both gross and fine motor skills through hands on activities and play. These skills help strengthen coordination, physical development, and independence, supporting overall growth and school readiness.
🌼 Color and shapes unit
Through art, play, and movement, children explore colors and shapes in a fun, engaging way that builds confidence and creativity.
🌼 Numbers unit
Let's count and play! Through play, music, and hands on activities, children learn to count, recognize numbers and build confidence in their early math skills
🌼 Rug time
During rug time, we gather for wiggles, songs, and stories that help children learn, listen, and grow togther.
🌼 Snack time
Snack time is a calm, friendly break where children enjoy a little snack while practicing manners, independence and social skills
🌼 ABC unit
Children learn letters and sounds through fun, hands on activities that build early reading and writing skills. Before kindergarten, most kids are blending sounds together to form a word, while others are reading.
🌼 Weekly unit
Each week, children explore a new theme that keeps learning fresh and exciting, while helping children build curiosity, understanding, and early learning skills through hands on activities to explore and learn.
🌼 Free play time
Free play time gives children the opportunity to explore, imagine, and create through child-led activities. It supports independence, social development, creativity, and problem-solving in a relaxed, engaging setting.
🌼 Let’s clean together
Clean up time teaches children the importance of responsibility and teamwork as they help put toys and material away. This daily routine builds independence and respect for their classroom space.

Why we love mixed age classrooms

A closer look at how mixed-age learning supports social, emotional, and academic growth in early childhood.

Natural peer learning

Younger children learn by watching older peers. They pick up language, routines, problem solving, and social skills just through daily interaction –…

Leadership opportunities for older children

Older preschoolers naturally step into “helper” roles-modeling behavior, assisting with cleanup, guiding routines, and helping younger friends. This builds confidence, responsibility, and…

Stronger social-emotional growth

Children learn patience, empathy, cooperation, and flexibility. Older kids learn to be gentle and inclusive, while younger children learn how to join…

More individual learning

In mixed-age settings, teachers tend to focus less on “everyone doing the same thing” and more on meeting each child where they…

Smoother transitions over time

Children often stay in the same classroom for multiple years, so they don’t have to repeatedly adjust to new teachers, peers, or…

More realistic social environment

Mixed-age groups better reflect real life – siblings, neighborhoods, and communities aren’t separated by age. Kids learn how to interact in more…

Reduced comparison pressure

Without strict same-age comparison, children are less likely to feel “behind” or “ahead.” Progress is more individualized, which can support confidence and…

Strong classroom community

These classrooms often feel more like a “family” than a structured grade level. That sense of belonging can improve behavior, engagement, and…
